Vietnamese student wins prize at Russia poetry contest

Showcasing a warm, inspiring voice and fluent Russian pronunciation, Lam won over the judging panel with a high score at the event by reciting a poem on Yekaterinburg city by author Zaitova Anastasia. His presentation left positive impressions on both Russian and international friends at the competition.

Lam was also honoured with the Certificate of Merit and the Yekaterinburg city’s insignia for his presentation. First prize went to student Fidel Depar of Peru, while a group of students from Zimbabwe clinched second prize.

Addressing the award ceremony, Sergey Tushin, vice rector in charge of international relations UrFU, emphasised that the event, part of activities held to celebrate the 300th founding anniversary of Yekaterinburg, has helped to elevate the image of the city among international friends.
